“Founded in 1879, Mount Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church has been a pillar of faith in Nashville, TN. Ground-broken in our current home on 2911 Stokers Lane in 2003, we remain committed to serving Christ and our community.”
About Us
The Mount Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church was established in 1879. The earliest available records did not mention the First Pastor by name. The original church building, located at 2814 Lebanon Road, was built by hand by Mr. Jim and West Hockett.

Pastor Colby Barnett and First Lady Kimberly Barnett serve Mount Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church with a shared heart for God and a deep love for people. Pastor Barnett leads with compassion, biblical truth, and a forward-thinking vision that guides our church toward spiritual growth and community impact. Standing faithfully beside him, First Lady Barnett brings grace, encouragement, and a passion for uplifting others through ministry and service. Together, they embody servant leadership and are committed to helping every member and visitor feel welcomed, supported, and inspired in their walk with Christ.
